Zizou's attack on Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup final cost him a whole lot more -- in addition to worldwide vilification and ignominy, he failed in his chance to lift sport's most important trophy for a second time.
But today, the Frenchman has proved that diplomacy rather than brute force can bring valuable rewards.
