Adilson Batista Sacked As Santos Coach

Adilson Batista has been removed from his post as head coach of Santos after just 11 games in charge of the Copa Libertadores challengers.

Globoesporte reported that the former Corinthians and Cruzeiro trainer was removed by the board of directors on Sunday evening, after a 1-1 draw at home to San Bernardo the previous night in the Paulista championship. Batista had been contracted as Dorival Junior's replacement in November 2010 but only took over at the Peixe at the start of the year. In 11 games at the helm he won five, drew five and lost just one.
