Fabio Capello has admitted he regrets the way he handled the England captaincy after reinstating John Terry, but revealed that he was unable to meet with former skipper Rio Ferdinand.
The Manchester United defender was stripped of the armband while injured and Capello conceded the situation should have been handled better after revealing that the pair had not met to discuss the issue.
