Notts County are looking for their third manager of the season after the League One club parted company with Paul Ince little more than five months after he took over at Meadow Lane. Ince has left by mutual consent after a run of five successive defeats left County languishing in 19th place, two points above the relegation zone.
The former England international had been given the task of turning County into play-off contenders when he replaced Craig Short as manager. Short was surprisingly sacked after less than five months and 13 league matches in charge, with the club in 16th place. Ince led County into the fourth round of the FA Cup, where they earned a lucrative replay at Manchester City before losing 5-0, but the team struggled in the league.
