Referees are preparing to revolt against the FA after official Lee Mason was put under pressure to provide a damning match report that could justify Wayne Rooney’s punishment, according to the Daily Mirror.
Mason’s admission that he would have sent the Manchester United striker off had he seen him swearing into a TV camera was a key factor in the FA banning the England international for two games.
