1-0 R. Van Persie 90'+8'(pen)
1-1 D. Kuyt 90'+10'(pen)
Total idiocy from Eboue. He deserves a SEVERE ass-kicking. HOWEVER, he should have blown the final whistle a LONG time before it even happened. What should have been 30 seconds due to celebration somehow became 2 minutes. Liverpool defended well though. Probably a fair result.
Liverpool played the ball quickly into the Arsenal half, and when you are that close to the penalty box the Ref can't blow the whistle and we got a free kick
for almost a minute, we were near the six-yard box and then the free kick and after that..you can't blow the whistle when the ball is in the box, so fair amount of time.
Also, Van Persie did seem to take quite a while to set up the penalty.
Unbelievable game that lasted 102 min. Really intense at the last 10 minutes. Really good result for Liverpool, considering that we have an injury crisis with our defenders. But our young squad composed of Robinson (17yrs), Flanagen (18), Shelvey (19), and Spearing (22) did really well at closing down Arsenal's attack. I hope Carra, Aurelio and Carroll are alright. Deserved point, good game with last minute drama!
what goes around comes around, Arsenal stole a point from us at anfield and now we did the same, Yeah! Fair result in the end.
LMFAO when I saw Eboue body slam Lucas and then Kuyt finished off with the penalty
Cant believe Wenger thought it wasnt a penalty
Even though I didn't like the end result since Arsenal should have won since the extra time was over right after the Arsenal goal. But I think Liverpool did enough to deserve a point in the end and to be honest I wouldn't have enjoyed the win that much if Arsenal would have won with the penalty.
I'm just amazed how these crazy situations only happen to Arsenal.
You shouldn't be amazed. It became perfectly clear pretty early on that Arsenal has poor defense. Once again they fumble at defense and they pay for it. Wenger will keep bitching and moaning but he only has himself to blame. He fully deserved Dalglish "piss off" at the end. Go shake hands with him and then go complain to refs.
LOLLLl At Kenny Dalglish,he told Wenger to "piss off"
Yep. Kenny's not afraid to go toe-to-toe with anybody. If Hodgson was still in charge of LFC, he'd be apologizing and shaking Wenger's hand.
@Ultramoot @The_Nameless_one Gotta love scottish people..+ I think Wenger started it
He's scottish man. That's why I always love watching him and SAF go after each other.
That was funny. Wonder if dalglish will get a FA ban for it though
Doubt it because he didn't say with his face glued to the camera
definite you see Wenger started it, complaining about the penalty, and Dalglish tell him to piss off; correct!
Brillant performance by our youngsters Aurelio injured again good to see some cover coming from youngsters
Great finish to a dull game. Good result for man utd. Arsenal deserved 3 points in the end though
#pissoffwenger is trending world wide on twitter lol
#pissoffwenger is WINNING on twitter.. as Charlie Sheen would say :)
LFC needs to sell Aurelio in the summer and buy a better, less injury-prone left-back. Then buy some real wingers FFS. Meireles playing out wide is a joke and Kuyt has zero pace.
Kuyt was really struggling today because of our inability to hold the ball for much longer, just running around, Lucas and Spearing were good with tackles and we do need a quality left back.
@ultramoot I think Robinson can fulfill that position and he only 17 which I hate to admit but he is really good, also Spearing
Thats 2 weeks in a row now Liverpool have helped their enemies Man United.. first they injure Tevez right before the semi and now they cheat Arsenal out of 3 points. I don't get it
As Dalglish said in response to this, Liverpool can only help themselves. It's not our fault that teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and ManCity are bottlers. Arsenal had many chances to win the title before this game, but they blew it
We're not helping anyone, if we were helping united, we would've let them win at anfield, that would have been of great help to them, wouldn't it.
Well I'm not saying they mean to do it, but indirectly both things do benefit United
(this reply was meant to go at the bottom to your comment "It shouldve ended before the free kick even happened... how did half a minute of celebrating end up being 2 minutes of more extra time?" but i couldn't reply to that one)
taken from yahoo, this explains why played more than 8 mins
55:37 - Marriner stops play when Jamie Carragher is knocked out after a clash of heads with team-mate John Flanagan.
62:03 - Play restarts after a stoppage of nearly six-and-a-half minutes.
89:59 - Fourth official Peter Walton signals for a minimum of eight minutes of added time.
96:07 - Marriner awards Arsenal a penalty when Jay Spearing fouls Cesc Fabregas.
97:10 - After a delay of over a minute, Van Persie converts the spot-kick.
97:56 - Liverpool kick off after another 45 seconds.
98:45 - Liverpool win a free-kick at the edge of the box, 50 seconds after the restart.
100:44 - Following two minutes of protests, Luis Suarez hits the free-kick into the wall.
100:47 - Three seconds later, Eboue shoves Lucas to the ground, and Marriner awards a penalty to Liverpool.
101:48 - Kuyt converts the penalty with the final kick of the game, with Marriner blowing the final whistle immediately.
This sequence of events shows the ball was in play for just 53 seconds between the award of the first and second penalties - meaning less than eight minutes of 'real' stoppage time was played.
You don't get it because you don't understand the meaning of - "We don't give a rat's ass what other clubs do. We only care about our result." BTW, "cheat Arsenal out of 3 points"? Are you f**king blind? Carroll received a clear elbow to his face at the beginning and Spearing was clearly fouled soon after, both inside the box. But the ref ignored it. If anybody was cheated, it was Liverpool. And about the last penalty, Lucas put his body between Eboue and the ball. There's nothing wrong with that maneuver. But a knockdown from behind is a foul anywhere on the pitch, and inside the box, it's a penalty.
"We don't give a rat's ass what other clubs do. We only care about our result." They can say that as much as they want it wont change the fact that they are helping their bitter rivals even if they dont care about it And sure that was a penalty but the match shouldve ended by then already...
It's nice to help out your bitter rivals once in a while, especially if they're going up against sore losers who just can't accept the fact that they're not going to win any trophies this year, and continues to blame everyone else but themselves. Oh, and the match could not have ended after the free-kick because the ball was alive and inside the penalty box. By the rules, the referee can't call the game off then just yet. Not too complicated for you, I hope?
It shouldve ended before the free kick even happened... how did half a minute of celebrating end up being 2 minutes of more extra time?
I was hoping for some help to make up for the 3 points lost we had at Anfield, and it looked like ended up a draw when ugly Spearing clumsy it, and 1-0 was a fact. But then same silly thing happen on the other side 11 minutes!! in injury time. Thank you! only 1 point for Arsanal, and we now close as Champions!
Its over!!! UNITED takes another premier league title. And becomes the Best club ever in England! The Liverpool penalty shows why Arsenal cant win- they are to week in their mind.
van Persie 90'+8'(pen) D. Kuyt 90'+10'(pen) haha! only in the premier league.
Premier League the most exciting league in the world and that's a fact
watch la liga and say that again
I do watch La Liga, I watch the two most important games in the season when the title is decided haha j/k (sort of)
LMAO, Dalglish Time.
Lmao, that was not a penalty.
Liverpool got very lucky.
Ref's are comical these days.
The two penalties in the arsenal vs newcastle were a fking joke.
