Poitras Named Hartford Men's Soccer Coach

Tom Poitras, a former Southern Connecticut State soccer player and native of Southington, has been named coach of the University of Hartford men's soccer team.

Poitras, 42, spent the past seven seasons as Wisconsin-Green Bay's men's soccer coach and led the Phoenix to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 26 years in 2009, when they were 14-3-3 and Horizon League champions. The team was 14-5-3 in 2010, but lost to Butler in a Horizon League championship game decided by penalty kicks.
