The 2010-11 season was unkind to Bundesliga coaches. Between June 30, 2010 and the final matchday of the campaign, 14 coaching changes were made among teams in the German top flight. A further five switches have been confirmed before the next campaign, meaning that on average, a team underwent more than one managerial swap. Last season's coach of the year, Louis van Gaal, was sacked, and many other top trainers were given early dismissals from their respective roles.
