Former FIFA president Joao Havelange believes that current chief Sepp Blatter is criticised because everyone wants to replace him as the most powerful man in football.
The 95-year-old Brazilian presided over world football’s governing body from 1974 to 1998, with Blatter working as his secretary general from 1981. The Swiss eventually replaced him as the Fifa president 13 years later and has retained that position ever since.
