England Under-21 captain Phil Jones has said his side simply were not good enough after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Czech Republic saw them crash out of the European Championships.
England required a win and only a win to make it through to the semi-finals and after leading the game through a Danny Welbeck goal, the victory was snatched away with two late goals to seal England’s fate.
