Costa Rica's Ricardo La Volpe: Argentina are not a team

Costa Rica coach Ricardo La Volpe has controversially criticised the way Argentina play football, labelling them "individuals" who play for themselves.

La Volpe, who is himself from Argentina, was speaking to the press in the wake of the hosts' Copa America opener in which a late volley from Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero rescued a point against Bolivia. Argentina entered the tournament with a wide variety of attacking talent including Aguero, Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Gonzalo Higuain and more, but La Volpe insists they do not function together as a team.
