Well,if we'd seen the real Essien last season it MIGHT have been the massive blow it was the last time his knee went but he's just NEVER gonna be that player again and would, I'd bet a house on it, have been on his way out had this not happened. It's really just a financial blow I reckon in losing what Chelsea would have gotten for him-I just never see him returning to being the terror he once was, which is really sad.
You never know.. maybe he wud've performed better this season but now the injury will try n keep that a mystery. Same with lampard, hope essien doesn't get worse after the injury.
Moutinho would be a better fit for the Essien role as Modric can't do the same kind of destructive work whereas Moutinho might-Modric is the creative influence Chelsea want but that transfer is getting MESSY. I'm just gutted Chelsea aren't buying any wide players. I know Villas likes 4 3 3 with TWO strikers and one true wide player but we haven't got ONE at the minute so what's going on is anyone's guess-as is usual at Chelsea these days.
Oooh.. big blow for chelsea.
that sucks man. they definitely need a new midfielder now modric or not.
