Two-time Asian Champions League (ACL) winners Al Ittihad have fended off interest from Saint-Etienne to sign Brazilian Wendel from Bordeaux for an undisclosed fee.
The left-sided 29-year-old had been with Bordeaux since 2006, playing a key role in their Ligue 1 title in the 2008-09 season.
