Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has recovered in time to make the starting XI for the Premier League meeting with Sunderland with Jordan Henderson also lining up against his former club.
Kenny Dalglish has also handed competitive debuts to summer signings Charlie Adam, Jose Enrique and Stewart Downing while Andy Carroll starts up front for the Reds at Anfield.
