Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole has signed with Lique 1 side Lille on loan for the remainder of the season, the two clubs have confirmed.
Cole rejected an 11th hour approach from Aston Villa to take up the chance to play in France.
A statement on Liverpool's official website said: "Liverpool announced today it had finalised a deal with Lille OSC for the loan transfer of Joe Cole.
"The 29-year-old will now join the French champions for the remainder of the current campaign."
The England midfielder has failed to impress at Anfield having moved on a free transfer from Chelsea last summer.
