Reds' Bell deal a 'no-brainer'

Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli claims the transfer-deadline day move for former player Craig Bellamy was "a no-brainer ".

Bellamy completed a shock return to Anfield on Wednesday by signing a two-year deal after leaving Manchester City.

The Welshman, who spent one season at Liverpool in 2006/07 before leaving for West Ham, will help fill the void left by David Ngog's departure to Bolton.

Comolli believes Bellamy will prove a valuable addition to the squad after a busy of summer of transfer activity at Anfield.

"Craig is someone we targeted a long time ago as you can imagine. He's not a discovery for anybody, we know the quality of the player," he said. (Craig Bellamy, English Premier League, Liverpool FC, Transfers, West Ham)
