Vermaelen out for two months after having Achilles surgery on Monday

Thomas Vermaelen has delivered a devastating new injury blow to Arsenal.

The Belgian defender underwent surgery in Stockholm on his left Achilles yesterday – and could be out for two months.

Wow, it just keeps getting worse.. Wilshere out, Vermaelen?? Are you kidding me?!?!? Arsenal's two most "looked on" players out on injury.. So it's Mertesacker and Koscielny on our centre backs? Ooo well, at least Koscielny is better than Djourou...

I feel sorry for Arsenal, they are always losing important players in important matches from injuries. Borussia Dortmund on the 12th, good luck Arsenal! =O

I think Arsenal had injury issues last season as well, I think they need a good look at their physio team..

Vermaelen was by far their best player in August, and helped keep the back 4 somewhat sturdy. Good thing Wenger signed Mertesacker

this i why wenger should have bought two cb's. vermaelen is too injury prone.. why could he not get either cahill or samba aswell as mertesaker.. maye he'll grab one in the january window
