Adebayor: I kept my dignity despite awful Arsenal songs vs Spurs

The former Togo international team captain was the target for abuse from the away fans at White Hart Lane, which was condemned as 'sickening' by Harry Redknapp and chastised in equal measure by Arsene Wenger.

The songs specifically referred to the harrowing experience Adebayor endured at the African Cup of Nations in January 2010, when gunmen attacked the team bus in Angola with automatic weapons and left three people dead.

The story is too old to be commented.

Sometimes supporters just looses it. Its a shame that its so hard to seperate serious things from jokes.

You know what they were chanting at the top of their lungs, right?

"It should have been you, it should have been you, in Angola, it should have been you"

Ok, I'm as disappointed as the next Arsenal fan is with the reasons why he left and who he left for, but this is just too far.

I even deeply regret what I said on here about Diaby's admission to wearing a Spurs shirt.

Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly "like" Adebayor, but that's where it ends.

Not a fan of Adebayor, but I totally agree on this one, his statements are spot on.

Yeah, he was pretty smooth about it.

He did his talking on the pitch and good for him.
