Chelsea were made to look highly average yet again. Lots of positives to take out of that. Aside from the first few minutes, Coates was absolutely exceptional though. Didn't give Torres/Lukaku/Drogba/Mata a sniff at goal.

fact is a manager finds it hard to win immediately with what they are given. If they have the opportunity to win with a team they build up with what they need, success comes eventually.
look at mourinho, when he came to chelsea, he bought what he needed same time that is why he was successful at the club. he didnt have to make do with what chelsea had for a whole season.
