henry should have won it over nedved in 03.. he was the best striker on the planet back then

Maybe. Personally i think strikers get so much more recognition compared to other positions and Nedved was a great choice. He was brought in to replace Zidane....and....he did!

Juventus played brilliantly with Nedved controlling their midfield as well as Zidane ever did. He inspired them to phenomenal wins over Barcelona (at Camp nou- with 10 men no less) and galacticos Real Madrid that year. He had to sit out the champions league final because he was suspended so Juventus lost on penalties, but had he played i would have bet Juventus would have won that shocker of a dull stalemate final.

Arsenal never got out their group.

Nedved was well worthy of the award the end of that year.

Its still a bit strange how they do the nominations. Van p may get nominated for next years ballon if ive got it right...he would obviously have to continue scoring and maybe even win something to nick the award from their darlings of barcelona. Credit to messi and mates...its not their fault they play for barcelona.
