Nope, but what can you say the squad is a work in progress. We miss box-to-box midfielders like Meireles and class from Aquilani. Lucas' injury was a huge blow to the campaign as he is one of the finest DM's in Europe. Our midfield is a disappointment and our strikers cannot convert chances into goals. In terms of chances, Liverpool are well in the top 2 or 3 but the squad is not clinical enough. Again, a work in progress. Most games we play quality pass-move football but none of that matters when goals are never scored. It's interesting to note that our recent poor league form is correlated to the injuries of Agger and Bellamy, both really great players.
This season I was also hoping to see more youngsters in the squad but that hasn't happened much until this game
The fact is that Liverpool have spent a lot of money on average or underachieving players, their league position accurately reflects the strength of their squad. I don't know where they are going to find the money to bring in better calibre players either.
Well it is time to give a youngsters a go. we are already qualified for Europa league champions league is beyond us. Give the likes of Sterling and Morgan a chance. Our youth team finished third in nextgeneration tournament.
i remember saying to some liverpool fan that i see chelsea or arsenal finishing forth over liverpool and this was when both arsenal and chelsea were playing so poor
113.3m spent, 28 points behind league leaders Man Utd. Is this what Liverpool fans were expecting at the start of the season?
