As a new Football fan, i really don't know what's his beef with Messi. what did he do to him exactly, so far all i can understand is that he is threatened by Messi, that he'll replace his name as the Football Legend.

First of all I am no Messi fan, and I am no Barcelona fan. I stand by Real Madrid and its players! You can ask Corepred4, HxCGamer and many others in these threads about where my loyalty falls when it comes to clubs.
Yeah messi hasn't done anything for barca. But last time I saw messi plays in Europe, where are the best players, and best leagues are. Whether its the premier league with man u, arsenal, chelsea or Seria A with Inter and AC Milan, they all have one thing in common and that is that they compete with one another through the Champions league.
Have either of the two done anything at the International Level? Well in terms of winning things no. they haven't, however, messi has plenty more caps and more professionalism than the spike headed and self proclaimed little prick that is Neymar.
Messi has represented his country in vital championships has he won anything no, but hes done it more times than Neymar, the brazilians fear that the world will "stunt" his growth if they let him go from Brazil too fast. Does messi need to prove himself in other club/league. I would say yes, just to show that he can play outside of the taylor made barca squad. The only competition i saw Neymar playing European teams was the club WC and if i recall santos got wrecked.
