With Manchester United looking to get back on top in the Premier League, Bleacher Report is taking a look at some of the latest rumours involving the Red Devils.

United struggled through injuries in midfield for the majority of last season yet still managed to come close to winning the Premier League title.

There is no doubt that Manchester City will look to improve upon a very talented squad and United will have to make sure they do the same to mount another serious challenge next year.

A lot have players have been linked to the Red Devils throughout the season and this summer will likely see one or two major moves being made.

Here are some of the latest transfer rumours and updates concerning Manchester United.

You may think that Wesley Sneijder is the Dutch player in question, but that's not the case. According to Talksport.com, United will face competition from AC MIlan for the signature of PSV midfielder Kevin Strootman.

As mentioned in the intro, United had problems in midfield this season and could do with some more depth. Strootman would possibly be a cheaper option than many of the other players linked to the club.

Manchester United may end up losing its second Portuguese star in the last few years with the Daily Mail reporting that the club may end up selling Nani if his contract situation is not resolved soon.

With Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia also in the squad, United has three of the best wingers in the Premier League and Sir Alex Ferguson could feel that he has enough quality with the other two wingers to let Nani go if necessary.

BBC Sport shed some new light on the transfer situation regarding Lille attacker Eden Hazard, as last week the site reported that either Manchester club could close in on a deal as the week progresses.

The two clubs seem to be the only players in the running, as Hazard has stated that he will be playing in Manchester at the beginning of next season.

Earlier today, various sources reported that Hazard has in fact chosen Manchester United as his destination.

6/5: Manchester United's official website has confirmed they have agreed on a transfer for Shinji Kagawa. A Guardian report suggests the initial fee is likely to be around £12 million, with a further £5 million in "add-ons" should Kagawa prove a success.

At the end of last week, Shinji Kagawa confirmed that he met with Sir Alex Ferguson while he was in Manchester.

While that certainly puts Manchester United in pole position for the Japanese playmaker, the Mirror reports that Borussia Dortmund will not let the player go for a small fee.

If you didn't already know, the Manchester Evening News reported earlier today that Crewe Alexandra's Nick Powell will become the first signing for the Red Devils this summer.
