Poland coach Frank Smuda wasted no time capitalizing on the press of Manchester United's interest in prized striker Robert Lewandowski.

According to multiple sources, the coach said the Borussia Dortmund star is tapped be the next signing at Old Trafford. Per Mirror Football:

He said: "In my opinion, in a moment they will be gone from Borussia. 'Lewy' is going to Manchester United, Kuba also somewhere in England, Piszczek to Real Madrid."

Kuba is 26-year-old squad captain Jakub Błaszczykowski and Piszczek is 27-year-old defender Łukasz Piszczek.

Twenty-three-year-old Lewandowski is the prize piece, though.

The Bundesliga star scored 30 goals this season for league champions Borussia Dortmund, and he's on the radar of a number of English powers like United, Manchester City and Arsenal.

According to the Mirror report, talks between the Polish goal-scorer and Dortmund broke down last month. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was on hand to witness Lewy's hat trick in the league championship, and he keeps United on top so often by continually adding elite talent.

The Red Devils completed their first deal of the summer when they signed Lewandowski's Bundesliga teammate Shinji Kagawa earlier this week.

While we must take Smuda's opinion with a grain of salt, this move makes complete sense. With so much attention being paid to UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea and their capture of Eden Hazard and pursuit of Brazilian star Hulk, the Red Devils wont stay quiet for long.

With Euro 2012 kicking off today, it only makes sense for this rumor to break today. Poland is looking for the press leading up to their kickoff with Greece, and United can only stay out of the headlines for so long.

This is a deal we can expect to go down sooner than later.
