Contrary to yesterday's reports, it seems that Lucas Moura may still move to Manchester United after all.

Speaking to Radio Estadao ESPN, Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has stated that he is hopeful a deal can still be made before the end of the transfer market (via ESPNSoccernet).

"I don't rule out the possibility that in the future we open negotiations with Manchester United as we received them with great courtesy," he said.

Lopes went on to say that United has been the only team to show a genuine interest in Lucas, having sent a delegation to open negotiations over a possible transfer earlier in the month.

"Other teams have also expressed interest for Lucas, but only through the press from their countries."

With the Brazilian club's stake in the player due to drop by 10 percent come the end of the month, it would seem that the onus is on them to conclude a deal as quickly as possible.

Lucas' agent Wagner Ribeiro has spoken out again over a possible transfer, back-tracking over his comments ruling out a deal being made yesterday (via ESPNSoccernet).

Speaking to Radio Globo, Ribeiro revealed that Lucas has expressed an interest in joining the Manchester club.

"He told me to go ahead when I spoke about the interest of Manchester [United]. It's a great proposal. If it was something he couldn't refuse, he would go," Ribeiro told reporters.

The news will come as a relief to the large contingent of United fans who long to see Lucas in a red shirt.

However it still remains to be seen whether or not boss Sir Alex Ferguson will meet Sao Paulo's asking price.
