Transfer Tracker: Lucas Moura, Luka Modric, Kaka, Ashley Cole, Daniel Agger

0 of 5

Never say never in the world football transfer market.

Lucas Moura's rumored deal to Manchester United seemed to be dead last week, but this week, the player is saying something that might mean otherwise.

Elsewhere, Kaka's return to AC Milan is looking more likely, while Luka Modric's transfer saga could be reaching a climax.

All that and more inside Monday's edition of the B/R Transfer Tracker.

Lucas Deal Not Dead?

1 of 5

Lucas Moura's potential move to Manchester United seemed dead last week when various reports indicated that United would not increase their bid for the 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder (The Sun).

Hold that thought. The deal might be back on. Just ask Lucas.

"After the Olympics are over, I'll decide," he said (ESPNSoccernet). "If I stay at Sao Paulo, I'll be happy because it's the club where I started my career."

If there's a decision to be made, that must mean the deal isn't dead.

Or, as Lloyd Christmas would say, "So you're telling me there's a chance!"

Iker Hearts Luka

Transfer sagas are not unlike middle school crushes. Before a deal can be struck, both sides must declare their intent publicly but coyly.

In middle school, passing notes does the trick. In football, well, here's Iker Casillas, who's apparently quite the fan of Real Madrid transfer target Luka Modric.

    From the Daily Mail:

[Modric] has been a great player ever since he signed for Tottenham. I faced him in the Euros and he had a very good season. If the manager thinks he ought to be then I am sure he will be at the level of this squad. It is not our responsibility to say anything more.

Ah, but you've already said enough, Iker.

Montolivo: Kaka Would Be Welcomed Back

Brazilian midfielder Kaka has been linked with a return to AC Milan this summer (Goal.com), and now the interest is heating up.

Remember what we said about passing notes in middle school? Let's give Riccardo Montolivo a chance.

From Goal.com: "Anybody would want to have Kaka in their team, he's an exceptional player and I think he would be welcomed back," Montolivo told Milan Channel.

Montolivo himself just joined Milan this summer. Could Kaka be next?

United Watching Cole?

4 of 5

Manchester United are tracking Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole after their move for Leighton Baines slowed (Metro).

United are reportedly unwilling to pay more than £12 million for Baines. Everton are thought to want £15 million.

Cole, meanwhile, has a contract with Chelsea through the 2012-13 season. The 31-year-old has not been offered a new deal.

City Bid on Agger?

5 of 5

Manchester City have bid £13 million for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, while Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested (Daily Mirror).

Liverpool rejected the bid last week, but Agger has reportedly told new manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants a transfer.
