Fact or Fiction on Latest Transfer Rumors

As the season nears, the transfer rumors keep heating up.

And it doesn’t matter whether it’s an experienced UEFA Champions League winner, a high-priced striker or a young, up-and-coming English keeper.

That up-and-coming keeper is 19-year-old Jack Butland, who has come to the attention of football fans this summer as Great Britain’s No. 1 at the Olympic tournament. Butland has played only in the lower leagues of English football, but now he’s being linked with one of the top flight’s biggest teams (per Metro).

Dutch superstar Wesley Sneijder is a veteran of gossip pages and transfer rumors. Last summer, the midfielder was linked heavily with Manchester United, but no deal materialized. Now, there’s word that Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho might be interested in bringing Sneijder back to Spain from Inter Milan (via talkSPORT).

Finally, the Andy Carroll saga wears on, with the English striker still a Liverpool player. The Reds thought they had a deal agreed with West Ham, but it’s looking like Carroll still won’t go, according to The Guardian.
