Eden Hazard: New Chelsea Star Has Set Himself Up to Fail

Eden Hazard has set himself up to fall heavily if things don't go favorably for him and his new, beloved Chelsea this season.

In this Sunday's Community Shield defeat to illustriously overpaid Manchester City, he set himself up for a fall, quite literally, when a cheeky back heel pass attempt saw him face plant on the Villa Park turf. It was absolutely hilarious if you're not a fan of him or Chelsea. If you are a fan, then it was probably a bit painful to watch. 

He says he wants to be Chelsea's Lionel Messi, but other than this moment of pure embarrassment for him and his new club, in this high-class cup final he endured a mixed bag of a game.

Starting out on the left, most of his trademark cuts to the inside resulted in very little, as far as attacking movement is concerned. There also appeared to be loads of misunderstanding between him and Fernando Torres. But that is probably something that will develop with time and practice with the squad.

The pace and physicality of the English Premier League takes new arrivals (Chamakh, Shevchenko, Ballack) some time to get acquainted with, and this will probably be the case with Mr. Hazard, coming from the much slower Ligue 1 of France. 

He obviously has a lot of talent to go with his oodles of ego, which is why all of the heavyweights of England vied for his services before Chelsea gave him the clincher. It will take time for this Belgian talent to rise to the ferocity of the English Premier League.

Though, he probably should have factored in that he would need some time to get settled at his new club before building himself up as a superstar to the followers of his Twitter account.
