Manchester United Transfer News: Tracking All the Latest Rumors and Updates

0 of 6

The new English Premier League season is less than a week away, with Manchester Untied to kick off their season against Everton this weekend.

The Red Devils have had a solid offseason—picking up Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell—and will be looking to consolidate further throughout the remaining few weeks of the summer transfer window.

We've got all the latest Manchester United transfer news including Robin van Persie, Fernando Llorente and much, much more, so read on to see who could be coming to Old Trafford this year.

Robin Van Persie

Starting with the big one—Robin van Persie is still a Manchester United transfer target. To be honest, that's about all we really know.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated via The Sun that he expects the striker to remain at the club—highlighting that their transfers this summer in Olivier Giroud, Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski were done to benefit RVP—in what could be a deciding factor in the race for the Dutch international.

The Daily Mail, however, report that Sir Alex Ferguson has had talks with Wenger and a deal could be done soon between the two clubs.

Angelo Henriquez

Angelo Henriquez is reported via The Daily Mirror as being a potential target for Manchester City, who are trying to hijack the £4-million deal that Manchester United have in place with the Universidad de Chile youngster.

The Daily Mail, however, report that a deal has been done and that the player has even had his medical at Old Trafford.

Henriguez, 18, has already netted a dozen first-team goals for his current club.

Neil Taylor

Believed to be put off by Everton's high valuation of Leighton Baines, Manchester United are reportedly turning to Swansea defender Neil Taylor as a possible addition to the squad at left-back.

According to The Daily Mirror, Taylor impressed those at Old Trafford with his recent performances for Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics, and at just 22 years of age would be an excellent signing for the club's future.

Danny Welbeck

The Daily Mail reports that United striker Danny Welbeck has signed a new five-year deal with the club—worth around £75,000 per week.

The media outlet had previously revealed earlier in the summer transfer window that contract negotiations had broken down between Welbeck and United, with the possible addition of Robin van Persie believed to be the driving factor.

One must now wonder whether Welbeck's new deal sheds any light on whether or not United will indeed sign the Arsenal striker this summer.

Robert Lewandowski

Linked to Old Trafford all summer long, Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski is once again being touted as a possible transfer target for the Red Devils, should they be unable to sign Robin van Persie.

Onet.pl, citing Eurosport (h/t Manutd.com) states that Untied have tabled a €30-million offer for the Polish international and are willing to give him a five-year deal at the club.

Fernando Llorente

Wrapping up our transfer news is Athletic Bilbao Fernando Llorente, who was linked as a possible transfer target for Manchester United this summer.

According to ESPN, Italian champions Juventus have pulled ahead of the Red Devils in the race to sign the 27-year-old, after he revealed he would not be signing a new contract with the club whilst Marcelo Bielsa is the manager.

Llorente is believed to cost around €20-25 million.
