To be honest Germany was the better team in this contest. The way they passed the ball around is fantastic. Taking nothing away from Di Maria's shot, that was a blast. However, when you have your 4th or even 5th choice keeper playing against Argentina, its always going to be hard. Germany were unlucky in some instances however overall they played better than Argentina!

The game was lost, the minute the gaolkeeper received the red card. You can not prevail against Argentina with only ten men and several key players missing as well.

Wow, I could not hate di maria anymore than I already do, he just thrashed at the ball and you could tell he had zero intention of doing what he did. He was even ready to back down and close his eyes, so over rated its disgusting. Love to see Götze back out there, he has a lot of promise.

Argentina defence sucks not because of the individuals... But really due to how the team as a whole applies pressure on the ball. Untill that aspect of their game is sorted out then they will only remain promising without actually ever fulfillimh that promise. Barca's defence isnt exactly the greatest yet no other team concedes less goals... Its not rocket science having the 4 best defenders in the world would still not mean having the best defence... Yet even with pretty average players set up the correct way great results can be accomplished. Even with just 10 men Germany were able to find open spaces in dangerous areas with relative ease.

The truth is, Germany was the better team, without most of it's 1st team players. What a goal by Di Maria! Also Messi is a joke on the international stage when it matters, even in this game it didn't matter much but he failed to score a very easy hattrick.
