Predicting the 3 Teams to Get Relegated from the English Premier League

The new English Premier League season kicked off today with some interesting results out of the first seven games to say the least.

But while the optimism is flowing for some and down for others, there are still those that have to be wary of just where the season may or may not be headed.

One of the greatest and worst things about the English football system is the existence of relegation. Clubs and fans hate what it can do to them financially and emotionally.

However, the only thing that is possibly even more exciting than the race for the title is the battle at the bottom of the table as clubs fight to avoid the drop.

With that in mind, here are three clubs that are likely to suffer the worst result of an English Premier League season. One many of you may say it is a surprise to see on the list, but stranger things have happened. Another looks unfortunately destined to suffer, while the last is always a wild card.

Despite Mark Hughes having spent the entire summer building a new-look side with multiple additions, there is still much to be desired at Queens Park Rangers.

Having brought in Manchester United utility man Park Ji-Sung looks to have been the shrewdest move of the summer, but the additions of former Blackburn Rover starlet Junior Hoilett and recent free transfer Jose Bosingwa looks the most important.

However, Hughes still is struggling to find some identity in his side. Despite looking like they should be at least a mid-table club on paper, that is yet to formulate on the pitch.

If the former Fulham manager can pull his side together then he is likely to keep them up, but if the egos in the locker room get in the way of themselves then it could be a potentially great club that—rather than lighting up the pitch—implodes amongst themselves.

Southampton have looked the most destined to take a turn for the worse in their promotion campaign.

The Saints have done little to nothing to strengthen their squad. Signing Nathaniel Clyne and former Rangers midfielder Steven Davis is hardly enough to ensure the side remain in the top flight.

A plan to lean on Rickie Lambert in the English Premier League is not likely to be the best idea in the book. Although he had a breakout season in the Championship, the chances of his prolific scoring translating to the next level is still a major question mark.

Young midfield rising star Adam Lallana is likely to be one of the biggest contributors alongside of new signing Davis. If the central portion of the club can control the ball for decent stretches in matches, the club may have a chance of avoiding the drop, but not likely.

It is said every season, but once again Wigan Athletic are a choice to finally be dumped back down to the Championship.

However, Roberto Martinez is an escape artist of the rarest form with his club and his small but smart moves in the transfer market might make just enough difference to almost or possibly avoid the drop.

Losing Hugo Rodallega is most likely more of a blessing than a poor event. Rodallega has not been a source of goals for the club the last two seasons, having scored only one more in the last two seasons than he did the season prior.

The loan signing of Arsenal's promising young attacking midfielder, Ryo Miyachi, looks brilliant on the part of Martinez as does the acquisition of Levante striker Aouna Kone. Bringing in Ivan Ramis also looks a positive move.

However, despite the acquisitions, the club do not look strong enough to pull out enough results to stay up.
