Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Latest Buzz on Kaka, Chicharito and More

Manchester United kicks off the 2012-13 EPL season against Everton on Monday. However, the squad that Sir Alex Ferguson has assembled ahead of the upcoming match may look much different by the time the transfer window shuts at the end of August.
There are a number of players being linked with the Red Devils, including some former superstars and productive young studs.
Let’s take a look at the latest on who is being linked with United and which players the club could sign before the transfer window closes.
According to Neil Ashton and Chris Wheeler of The Daily Mail, United has a serious chance to acquire Kaka from Real Madrid this season.
The former World Player of the Year has fallen out of favor at the Bernabeu and has not lived up to the £60 million transfer fee that Real spent to secure his services in 2009.
Considering the competition on the Spanish club's roster—which includes Xabi Alonso, Lassana Diarra, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Angel de Maria—there is little chance that Kaka breaks through and earns a starting job.
If Kaka is healthy, expect Sir Alex Ferguson to give him a serious look and possibly take the loan that Real Madrid has put on the table.
Javier Hernandez
After the team signed Robin van Persie, some clubs felt that United’s young striker, Javier Hernandez, would become available.
Hernandez—perhaps better known as Chicharito—drew strong interest from Chelsea, according to Miguel Delaney of ESPN FC.
Fortunately for United supporters, Ferguson and ownership quickly rebuffed the Champions League winners and made it clear that they intend to use the Mexican international in a backup role.
It seems Hernandez is keen on staying as well, as Delaney quoted the young man in his report:
There are parts of your life when you're going to have competition. Having that competition in the team can be good. I will be ready when the manager wants me to play.
That is great news for United and a tough pill to swallow for the Blues.

Alexander Buttner has reportedly (via Ashton and Wheeler) completed his transfer to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old Dutch midfielder seems extremely excited and did not hold back when talking to the media:
This is crazy stuff, beyond all my dreams. I am looking forward to this challenge so much. I am so proud and so glad that it has worked out like this. I’m so glad that it has happened and everything has turned out like this. This is really a dream come true.
With Robin van Persie and Buttner joining the side, Manchester United has a serious Dutch flavor, and that should be just fine for the Red Devils.
