Arsenal Transfers Rumours: 5 Last-Minute Moves the Gunners Are Considering

0 of 5

It has been another rough transfer window for Arsenal fans with the loss of two more key players. They should be OK upfront with two new strikers coming in, but there is a certainly a gaping hole in the midfield. Nevertheless, they will miss both Robin Van Persie and Alex Song.

There are a few days left of the transfer window and fans will be hoping that the Gunners can do some late business.

Lucas Biglia (Anderlecht)

The Belgium-based Argentine international seems keen to move on to a club based in Europe. A couple of days ago, this appeared to be Norwich City. But with no further developments, it appears that deal may be dead in the water.

He has been regularly linked with a move to Arsenal, and with Song now gone, it appears that he may be seen as the ideal replacement. He is an attractive option, because he is likely to be available either on loan or in a permanent deal.

The defensive midfielder has the sort of passing ability and vision that will be a real asset to the Premier League.

Yann M'Vila (Rennes)

The Spurs seemed to have stolen a march on their North London rivals by submitting a bid for the France midfielder. But this is a player that Arsenal have been linked with in the past, and they may look to scupper Spurs' interest with a late offer.

The fact that Arsenal can offer Champions League football could be enough to convince him. Arsenal's reputation at developing young French players may also be a deciding factor.

Cheick Tiote (Newcastle United)

Arsenal may look to shop for their next holding midfielder from the Premier League with a possible link to Newcastle star Cheick Tiote. Although, this would be an interest transfer battle, because Newcastle would be reluctant to sell to a club that must now be considered a rival.

Nicolai Boilesen (Ajax)

To focus on a different part of the pitch, Arsenal have been linked with a possible move for for Danish left back Nicolai Boilesen of Ajax. The player is just 20 years old and has already played international football for the full Danish side, as well as at various youth levels.

He must now be keen to show what he can do in the Premier League.

Ibrahim Afellay (Barcelona)

Arsenal may elect to move for a more attacking option to replace the departing Song. This is after Ibrahim Afellay has been told he can leave Barcelona. The Dutch international may decide to rebuild his career in the Premier League with Arsenal. Although, it is believed there would be competition for his signature.
