The transfer deadline has come and gone in most countries, but deals continue to trickle in.

The transfer window remains open in some nations, and that's the basis of a couple of news items in Monday's edition of the B/R World Football Gossip Roundup.

    The rest?

Well, we're already looking forward to January.

Read on for all the updates.

Falcao's Father Expects PL Move

1 of 5

The father of Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao has reportedly said he expects Falcao to play in the English Premier League by the time the next transfer window closes (via Daily Mail).

Falcao, a 26-year-old Colombian international, scored three goals in Atletico's 4-1 victory over Chelsea in last week's UEFA Super Cup. Since then, he has been linked heavily with a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Mail cites Colombian reports in quoting Falcao's father in saying that Chelsea, Manchester City and an unnamed Russian club are interested.

Turkish club Fenerbahce and Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles are in talks over a potential transfer, according to widespread internet sources.

According to The Sun, Fenerbahce announced to the Turkish stock market: “Chelsea Football Club player Raul Meireles started to be discussed for the transfer to our club."

The transfer deadline passes on Wednesday for Turkish clubs.

Meireles, 29, joined Chelsea from Liverpool in 2011. He has started only one match so far this season. He has 62 senior caps for Portugal.

Michael Owen, Liverpool to Talk?

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen failed to find a new club on transfer deadline day after being released by Manchester United this summer. Liverpool failed to find a new striker after letting Andy Carroll move to West Ham.

Now, the two are apparently interested in each other.

Owen, 32, is set to hold talks with Liverpool on Monday, according to ESPN FC.

The Daily Mail quotes Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers as saying, "Any player that I believe can improve the squad, I will look at. We have got a very small group here."

Meanwhile, Sunderland are also interested in Owen, according to Metro.

Reds After Didier Drogba Too?

4 of 5

If you think the Michael Owen-to-Liverpool rumors are a bit crazy, just wait.

The Daily Star is reporting that Liverpool are interested in former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

Drogba, 34, left Chelsea this summer and joined Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua. Turmoil at the club in recent weeks has led to speculation that Drogba could move on quickly.

When he left Chelsea, Drogba said he would never play for another Premier League club (via The Independent).
