Top 6 English Premier League Goals of the Week

0 of 6

This week in the Premier League, fans were more excited than usual because of the madness known as the transfer window, which ended on Friday.

After the dust settled from the transfer window, there were nine matches played this weekend.

On Saturday, Tottenham continued their disappointing start with a draw at home against Norwich.

West Brom and Swansea both extended their good starts with positive results.

The Baggies beat Everton, while the Swans drew with Sunderland.

On Sunday, Liverpool were defeated at home by Arsenal, while Manchester United came back from a goal down to beat Southampton.

In those nine matches, there were 28 goals scored...but only six made the cut for goals of the week.

6. Kevin Nolan

Kevin Nolan scored in the first minute of West Ham's 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.

The lead up to the goal was started by a header won by new Hammers loan signing, Andy Carroll. Nolan finished with with a left-footed screamer past Fulham's Mark Schwarzer to secure the early lead at home.

The goal was Nolan's second of the season after he scored in the opening match with Aston Villa.

Manchester City were able to beat QPR on Saturday by a 3-1 score.

Edin Dzeko scored the second City goal. His header came off of a cross from Carlos Tevez, who was active in play all match long.

It was the second straight home match in which Dzeko scored for the defending champions.

4. Robin van Persie

Robin van Persie pops up twice on this week's list and he deserves it after his hat trick against Southampton.

Van Persie's third goal of the match is the one that finds the No. 4 spot on this week's list.

The Dutchman's header not only completed his first Manchester United hat trick, it won the match for his new club, as he made the score 3-2 with his goal.

The goal appears in this video at the 2:34 mark.

3. Robin van Persie

Because you can never have enough Robin van Persie, the first goal that the forward scored on Sunday makes the list as well.

Van Persie controlled a pass from Antonio Valencia with his chest and then scored United's first goal with his left foot.

Van Persie's hat trick bumped his goal total with his new club up to four.

This goal comes at the 0:40 mark in the video.

2. Moussa Dembele

5 of 6

There is no better way to introduce yourself to the fans at your new club than by scoring a tremendous goal.

Tottenham's Moussa Dembele did just that on Saturday after he came on as a substitute against Norwich.

Dembele pulled off a nice move around a Norwich defender and then was able to shoot the ball into the net with his left foot.

Unfortunately for Spurs, the Belgian's goal was not enough, as they were equalized late by Norwich and settled for their second consecutive 1-1 draw at home under Andre Villas-Boas.

Watch the goal at 1:24 in the video.

1. Hatem Ben Arfa

6 of 6

Hatem Ben Arfa scored Newcastle's only goal in their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday.

Ben Arfa delivered a brilliant strike from outside the penalty area with his right foot past the outstretched arms of Villa keeper Brad Guzan.

This is not Ben Arfa's first amazing goal with the club, as he delivered one of the goals of the year against Bolton last season.
