Swiss Super League, anyone?

From the league that brought us FC Basel last season comes this outrageous goal. It's a flying, sideways, no-look flick, and it comes courtesy of FC Thun's Marco Schneuwly.

Watch and enjoy the video above. It's our pick for Set Piece's goal of the weekend.

There's plenty to like about this goal, starting with the parts about flying, sideways and no-look. We should also throw in acrobatic, because look at the level of body control it took Scheuwly to pull it off.

Go ahead, watch it two or three more times. You'll be impressed every time you watch it.

So who is this Marco Schneuwly guy? He's a 27-year-old Swiss forward, and like the title of this article implies, he plays for FC Thun. Schneuwly is a former Switzerland U-17 and U-21 international, and he was part of the Swiss side that won the 2002 FIFA U-17 European Championship.

Before playing for FC Thun, Scheuwly bounced around a bit, playing for Fribourg, BSC Young Boys, FC Sion and SC Kriens. This was his first league goal of the new league season.

FC Thun won this match, by the way, 3-0 against Servette on Sunday. Schneuwly's goal was the only one of the match until the second half, when Thun scored twice more to seal it.

The Bern-based club sit sixth in the 10-team Swiss Super League, eight points behind leaders St. Gallen.
