I think we can do good things this season, says Gunners midfielder

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has hailed the impact of new signings Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski at Arsenal. The summer arrivals were both on the scoresheet as the Gunners picked up their first Premier League win of the season in a 2-0 triumph at Anfield on Sunday. And the 19-year-old midfielder believes that his team can look forward to a good season with the talent they now have at their disposal. "Cazorla has been fantastic and so has Podolski," said Oxlade-Chamberlain. "The only thing we've been lacking is goals and they came at the weekend. "With the likes of those players and the rest of the squad I think we can do good things this season."

Important

Asked if he agreed with the assertion that Cazorla is one of the signings of the summer, Oxlade-Chamberlain said: "I think they're right. He's a very good player. "I think one of the good things about the new signings is they're all really good lads as well and that's always important to the team. "There are no bad eggs in there. They're all really bright and bubbly and they bring a lot of confidence to the team. That's always good to have that environment in the dressing room." The youngster was speaking ahead of England's opening World Cup qualifier in Moldova on Friday and knows he has to keep performing at club level if he is to fulfil his international ambitions. He added: "You can never rest on your laurels. I've got to keep working hard at Arsenal otherwise I won't get into these squads. "Being involved with that experience, it inspires me to make sure I keep getting in squads and play as many tournaments as I can so I'll work hard to make that happen."
