Radamel Falcao Dreaming of Real Madrid

    The father of Radamel Falcao has said the Colombian striker is "dreaming of Real Madrid" (ESPN FC).

    Falcao, 26, joined Atletico Madrid from Porto in a deal worth £34.7 million (Guardian). In recent days, he has been linked with a winter transfer to Real Madrid, Manchester City or Chelsea.

    The player's father fueled the speculation with his comments on Colombian radio.

    Saying that Falcao "will change teams at the end of the year", his father told the Colombian radio programme El Gran debate de Todelar: "His dream is to play for Real Madrid.

    "Since he was a boy he's always wanted to play there. Other teams in Europe like Chelsea and Manchester City were interested in him. If he can't play for Real Madrid, he'll play for a team in England."

    Falcao scored three goals in Atletico's 4-1 victory over Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup on Aug. 31.

Ashley Cole to Quit Chelsea?

    Ashley Cole could leave Chelsea over a contract dispute, according to The Sun.

    The tabloid reports that Cole, 31, is unhappy with a one-year extension the club offered him. A club source said Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich only offers one-year deals to players over 30.

    Cole's backup, 23-year-old Ryan Bertrand, signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea this week (per The Independent).

    If Cole leaves, The Sun reports it could be on a free transfer in January.

    Paris Saint-Germain and Zenit St. Petersburg are listed as potential suitors for Cole.

Zenit St. Petersburg Chasing Nani

    Big-spending Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg are hoping to complete a £25 million deal for Nani on Thursday, which is Russia's transfer deadline day (via Daily Mail).

    Zenit signed Hulk and Axel Witsel for a combined cost of €80 million on Tuesday (ESPN FC). Nani, Manchester United's 25-year-old winger, could be next after reportedly falling out of favor with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

    According to the Mail, Zenit are also trying to bring back forward Andrey Arshavin from Arsenal.

Carlos Bocanegra Move in Jeopardy?

    United States international defender Carlos Bocanegra could return to Rangers next week after details emerged about an error in Racing Santander's handling of his season-long loan move (via Daily Record).

    An "administrative botch-up" by Racing Santander is cited as the reason for the confusion. According to the Record, the Spanish FA is seeking special clearance from FIFA to complete the move.

Bacary Sagna Questions Arsenal Transfer Policy

    Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has questioned Arsenal's transfer policy, questioning the decisions to sell Robin van Persie and Alex Song this summer (via The Independent).

    Speaking to French magazine L'Equipe, Sagna said:

    Everyone was expecting Robin van Persie to leave, but Alex Song, that was a surprise. I don't understand that at all. It is a big loss for the club. When you see two of the best players from last season leave, you ask a lot of questions. I understand why the supporters are nervous.

    Sagna, 29, is recovering from a broken leg suffered last season. He joined the Gunners from Auxerre in 2007.

EPL Considering Financial Fair Play?

    With the Premier League chairmen set to convene on Thursday, a number of UEFA-like Financial Fair Play proposals were reportedly being considered (per Express).

    If adopted, the proposals would limit the amount of money clubs can spend every year. Violators would face sanctions.

    Any proposals would need approval from 14 of the 20 chairmen to be implemented. The proposals were reportedly backed by Manchester United and Liverpool.
