Liverpool's 3 Under-the-Radar Signings Who Will Prove Fruitful in the Long Run

0 of 3

Liverpool didn't have the transfer season many fans wanted, but the Reds still brought in several players with the future in mind.

Brendan Rodgers has been adamant that this Liverpool revolution isn't going to take place overnight, and it seems as if many of his decisions are made with the future as his main focal point.

While Rodgers may be testing the fickle patience of some Liverpool fans, the point is, he's right. Liverpool isn't going to get better overnight.

Let's take a look at three summer signings that were made that will prove fruitful in the long run.

Conor Masterson

Conor Masterson signed a contract with Liverpool earlier this summer, reportedly worth €1 million.

    That's a lot of money for a 13-year-old.

The Dublin wunderkind will leave current club Lucan United when he's 16 to join the Reds. This, of course, creates a problem concerning Brendan Rodgers. He will need to stay with the club until then in order to oversee Masterson's growth.

I'm not saying he'll get sacked before the youngster arrives, but the life of a Premier League manager not named Sir Alex Ferguson or David Moyes is a precarious one.

At any rate, if Masterson is as talented as Rodgers says he is, this could be a great signing for Liverpool in the years ahead.

Oussama Assaidi

When Liverpool announced it had signed Moroccan winger Oussama Assaidi from Heerenveen, I think Liverpool fans around the world uttered a collective "Who?"

Assaidi hasn't featured for the Reds yet, but he looks incredibly quick and appears to be a fantastic dribbler. The Moroccan could very well solve a lot of the problems Liverpool has on the wings.

If Assaidi can make an impact this season down the flank, Liverpool scored a major coup with this super under-the-radar signing. The winger only cost around £3.5 million (via TransferMarkt).

Samed Yesil

Liverpool signed 18-year-old Samed Yesil from Bayer Leverkusen on the last day of the transfer window.

While Rodgers probably made this signing with the future in mind, Yesil may find himself in the first team before the season's end due to a severe lack of depth up top.

Plus, it's hard to ignore Yesil's goal-scoring ability. With the German Under-19 squad on Sunday, Yesil single-handedly picked England apart, scoring two goals and providing the assist for the third in a 3-1 win over the Three Lions.

Yesil will probably see time in the Europa League and the earlier stages of the FA and Capital One cup competitions. If he impresses, he might see time in the Premier League before too long.
