5 Most Exciting Players in Serie A So Far This Season

0 of 5

Serie A's new season has started superbly with plenty of goals and entertainment to wet the appetite for the coming months.

With the international break over, Serie A returns this weekend and there are some sensational players on display.

With only three Champions League places available, there is a lot of competition to qualify and the depth in the league means that sustained quality can be achieved throughout the season.

Here are five of the most exciting players to keep an eye on in the future.

Marek Hamsik, Napoli

1 of 5

Marek Hamsik has stepped his game up since the departure of Ezequiel Lavezzi and is now the heartbeat of the Partenopei moving forward.

Hamsik is inspiring his teammates with a tremendous desire to drive the side in transition, instigating their trademark counter-attacks.

The Slovakian often scores with powerful shots, such as the opener against Palermo, and is developing a potent partnership with Edinson Cavani, which could see Napoli qualify for next season's Champions League.

Pablo Osvaldo, Roma

2 of 5

Pablo Osvaldo is definitely the player to watch if you like spectacular goals.

The Giallorossi star can score from any position or situation, as his bicycle kick against Catania showed. Osvaldo also possesses a calmness in front of goal, such as the imaginative chip over the goalkeeper against Inter Milan.

Roma possess plenty of creative support forwards, but Osvaldo is one of the few options Zdenek Zeman has to be the side's reference point and the Azzurri international is relishing the responsibility placed on him.

Jonathan Biabiany, Parma

3 of 5

Jonathan Biabiany is thriving in the absence of Sebastian Giovinco at Parma this season.

The Frenchman is now seen as the man to inspire the side with a combination of skill, pace and a directness that sees him cut through the opposition's defence at will.

The Gialloblu star is capable of initiating the transition from defence to attack and should be pin-pointed as Parma's most dangerous attacker this season.

The former Inter star's versatility is also proving to be highly valuable for Roberto Donadoni, who has deployed Biabiany from the left, right and through the middle.

If Biabiany can maintain his bright start, further developing his high potential, then Parma will be able to push for European qualification.

Sebastian Giovinco, Juventus

4 of 5

Sebastian Giovinco's fine form for Parma last season has continued in a similar manner for Juventus already in the current campaign.

Formica Atomica is operating as the most withdrawn forward in a 3-5-2 formation which perfectly suits the Azzurri international.

Giovinco is capable of holding the ball up with his quick feet and close control, often linking with Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio, who tend to burst beyond him.

The Bianconeri have plenty of creativity from deep with Andrea Pirlo, but Giovinco now offers a second option closer to goal, in order to unlock the most disciplined of defences.

Stevan Jovetic, Fiorentina

5 of 5

Stevan Jovetic has successfully returned from a serious injury to inspire Fiorentina in this new revolution under Vincenzo Montella.

The Montenegrin is in sparkling form for the Viola, creating and scoring in equal measures to raise hopes that they could even achieve Champions League qualification.

Jovetic has three goals in two matches and despite the numerous new players, most of whom are high profile, that the Florentine club have signed, Jovetic is still the main protagonist.

Capable of producing spectacular, long-range strikes or manipulating the ball in small spaces with clever movement, this player has it all to become one of Europe's very best.
