10 Best Barcelona-Real Madrid El Clasico Goals of All Time

0 of 10

El Clasico is nearly upon us, and Bleacher Report continues its buildup by bringing you the top 10 goals ever scored in the fierce derby between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

You will witness some of the most eye-opening golazos ever scored—let alone just in the context of this rivalry—to remind you why Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and David Villa, among others, are among the globe's best.

    Enjoy the slideshow!

Johan Cruyff (1974)

1 of 10

We start with a goal in the Johan Cruyff era which epitomises every beautiful element of the game.

It's not overly flashy, but it does involve phenomenal individual skill combined with admirable teamwork qualities.

It's not the finish that impressed us, it's everything before it.

Zinedine Zidane (2001)

2 of 10

Zinedine Zidane has supplied us with no shortage of goals over the course of his career, but this one will rank among his favourites given the quality of the finish and the magnitude of the occasion.

The mercurial Frenchman showed off his incredible awareness and body control for this finish, simply lifting the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper despite dogged pressure from the last defender.

Ronaldo (2006)

3 of 10

"The real Ronaldo" is someone the football world has more or less forgotten about now.

Due to his career faltering in the latter years, many will forget what a superb natural finisher the Brazilian was, but this video should go a long way toward reminding you.

Collecting an accurate through-ball, the World Cup winner sees off a challenge before chipping the ball home in just a few short seconds.

Roberto Carlos (2000)

4 of 10

This list simply wouldn't be complete without a trademark Roberto Carlos effort, so, fortunately, the El Clasico saw one in 2000.

No one ever found a way to deal with the set-piece specialist, including Francesc Arnau, who failed to keep this bullet out.

Santiago Aragon (2000)

5 of 10

Not an awful lot to say about this one, except that this is the kind of goal you simply can't give away in a tussle like the El Clasico.

Santiago Aragon, spotting Richard Dutruel off his line, launches a 40-yard lofted shot over his head and into the net.

Ronaldinho (2005)

6 of 10

Ronaldinho really is one of the greatest players ever to pull on a Barcelona shirt.

Back when he was a dynamic, explosive player rather than more of a traditional No. 10, "Dinho" was able to terrorise defences.

His ability to pick a pass, shoot or dribble often left defenders flummoxed, and that's exactly what has happened here.

Picking the ball up in his own half, the Brazilian rinses the touchline, cuts in and slams home.

Julio Baptista (2007)

7 of 10

This is an example of football at its best.

Sublime, one-touch play culminating in a spectacular finish from the outside of the boot is what we pay to see, and Julio Baptista has netted a beauty here.

Surprisingly, the Brazilian's career went dramatically downhill from here, taking in spells at Arsenal, Roma and Malaga. He's currently injured (again).

David Villa (2011)

8 of 10

David Villa hits the ball as well as any player, and re-watching this fantastic strike just reinforces how much of a miss he's been for Barcelona over the last 10 months.

Collecting the ball wide on the left in his usual position from Lionel Messi, the former Valencia hitman uses the body of the defender to mask his shot.

Iker Casillas sees it late as a result, but even if it had been telegraphed, there's no stopping a strike with such a sumptuous dip.

Xavi (2004)

9 of 10

Watching this video from 2004 brings two memories to mind: Ronaldinho was a technically-stunning player, and Xavi was once flexible.

You won't see Spain's pass-master doing this anymore! "Dinho" dinks a perfect looping through-ball over the defence to Xavi, who acrobatically flicks it into the net with the outside of his right foot.

The move looks so unnatural, so involuntary and so difficult that it's tough to believe it happened. But it did.

Lionel Messi (2011)

10 of 10

When was the last time you saw a better individual effort than this?

Jose Mourinho's rage will have been building on the sideline as the Argentinian wizard skips one, two, three, four challenges and slotting in from a seemingly impossible angle.

This isn't just one of the best goals witnessed in an El Clasico encounter, it's one of the best goals world football has ever seen.
