Queens Park Rangers: How Long Does Mark Hughes Have to Save His Job?

With the English Premier League season entering its seventh week of play on Saturday, the speculation surrounding managers that are in line to be sacked has started.

No manager has dealt with this more than Mark Hughes at Queens Park Rangers.

Currently, QPR sit in last place in the EPL table with only two points from six matches.

Those two points came in draws with Norwich City and Chelsea but other than that, nothing positive has come to the club yet.

Things were supposed to better than this year for the London club, as they brought in plenty of new faces to rebuild into a perennial team in the EPL.

That idea has backfired so far as not many of those new signings have been able to mesh well with their new teammates.

One of the lone bright spots has been Esteban Granero, who came over from Real Madrid this summer, as the midfielder has been as close to a midfield maestro as you can have with a last place club.

Other new signings like Rob Green have failed to impress and have already been replaced by other new signings, in Green's case he was replaced Julio Cesar.

The good news for Hughes is that he still has time to turn things around at Loftus Road before he gets sacked.

The road to winning the first match of the season could turn out to be quite the difficult task in the next few weeks for the R's manager.

This Saturday, Hughes and company will travel to The Hawthorns to face West Brom, a match that is followed by a home fixture with Everton and an away one against Arsenal.

After that stretch of games, QPR will play Reading, Stoke and Southampton in successive matches where they can easily earn points.

The problem is, that stretch of matches does not come up on the fixture list until November 4th.

In today's football world, getting good results to start the season are a must and if Hughes wants to avoid his third sacking in four years from an EPL club, he will have to get his team ready to play for a win starting this weekend.

West Brom are not an easy opponent, but if Hughes gets his QPR club to play well together for a full 90 minutes and finds someone else to score other than Bobby Zamora, the R's have a chance of not only jumping out of the relegation zone, but they have a chance to save their manager's job as well.
