Long-term Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder could finally be getting his long-awaited move to the Premier League, after his agent set tongues wagging by admitting the Dutchman wants a move to a ‘top’ English club.

The Inter Milan midfielder has been sitting on the sidelines for much of this season after a contract dispute at the San Siro and is now keen to make a move to England.

But one City player who is not wanted in Italy is Mario Balotelli.

Reports yesterday linked the controversial striker with a move to AC Milan, but the club’s president Silvio Berlusconi has ruled out the signing, calling the 22-year-old a ‘rotten apple’.

Across Manchester, United are set to battle it out with Chelsea for the signings of teenage stars Hervin Ongenda and Marko Dabro.

17-year-old Ongenda has been scoring for fun in Paros Saint Germain’s Under-19 side this term, while Dabro is wanted across Europe, with Italian giants Juventus also keen on the Cibalia youngster.

And Chelsea are also hot on the trail of Everton’s Marouane Fellaini but face stiff competition from Arsenal.

It has been rumoured the Belgian international has a £22m buy-out clause in his contract, which has caught the attention of the London rivals. Click here to read more.

But the Blues have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Malaga midfielder Isco, after the Spanish club said they would reject any offer for their 20-year-old playmaker.

Isco has also been tracked by Tottenham, but it doesn’t appear Andre Villas-Boas will be getting his man either.

But one midfielder AVB may be bringing to White Hart Lane is Montpellier’s Younes Belhanda, although they will have to fend off the advances of Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Also in north London, Arsenal appear to have missed out on two of their January transfer targets, after Barcelona told Arsene Wenger to forget about signing striker David Villa, as they have no intention of letting the Spaniard leave the Nou Camp.
