The transfer window is open and clubs around the world have already been busy. But that’s not to say all the big names are off the market.

Quite the contrary. The gossip pages are linking plenty of big-name superstars with winter moves.

Manchester City’s Italian forward Mario Balotelli was recently involved in what appeared to be a training ground altercation with manager Roberto Mancini (via The Guardian). But does that mean Balotelli is bound for the exit?

If he does move, Balotelli will probably head back to his home country of Italy. But he’s been labeled a “rotten apple” by one of that country’s most powerful football personalities (via Huffington Post).

One possible destination for Balotelli is Napoli, according to the Daily Mirror. But Napoli have their own transfer saga brewing, with Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani being linked with Manchester City (via Manchester Evening News).

Finally, Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder ranked among the world’s best as recently as 2010. But after a series of injuries and a reported contract dispute with Inter Milan, he’s supposedly searching for a new home.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray are all interested. So where will he go, if anywhere?
