Tottenham are reportedly preparing a £8million bid for Hamburg striker Heung-Min Son.

The north London club are looking to bolster their attacking options and the South Korean could be drafted in after coach Andre Villas-Boas admitted the club would not make a bid for Brazilian foward Leandro Damiao.

Heung is versatile and could operate on the right flank as well as up front for Spurs.

German newspaper Bild suggested the Premier League club could bid around £8m for the attacker after already raiding the German league for Schalke’s Lewis Holtby, who has signed a pre-contract agreement to join the club in the summer.

Former Tottenham player Rafael van der Vaart, who now plies his trade at Hamburg, is reported by Bild to have said the English team would be keen on his 20-year-old teammate.

‘Spurs are always searching for the best young talent – that is why every year they are near the top,’ he said.

Heung has scored six goals in 16 games this season and is contracted to Hamburg until 2014.
