I'm going to be honest and say that Villa should have been good for a point. Benteke is a machine in the air. They were as dominant in the second half as we were in the first. It got physical, yes, but that was just how much they wanted it. A touch of class from Cabaye was enough in the end. We just hung on by putting the big lads on. Was it comfortable to watch? No. Did we need those 3 points? Oh yes.

Important win. Very good first half but seriously, Gutierrez has done his time.

I'm totally over him. I will always value what he has done for us in the past but it's time for Pardew to shake him up. Anita should have started as far as I'm concerned or Marveaux had he not been injured. Hell even Bigirimana could have done a job there. At least Bigi is good in possession most of the time. Guti offered very little and seems to have lost his legs and his confidence.

My one issue with people on footyroom is that they judge how teams perfomed merely on the score line. This is a prime example of that, yes Villa were poor in the first half, but personally, their second half performance was such a contrast that they deserved to walk away with at least a point.

Yeah man, and what about the crappy play of some Villains who seems to be likely trying to destroy some legs than score a goal ?
