New Manchester United boss David Moyes has broken the news that England center forward Wayne Rooney will in fact be staying with the club (Sky Sports News).

The news ends a month-and-a-half long transfer saga which saw United fans across the country biting their nails to the bone.

During his debut press conference as United manager, Moyes stated that Wayne was "not for sale."

Moyes went on to praise Rooney's efforts with the club and pointed out to the press that the Liverpudlian is currently only a season or two away from becoming the club's all-time top scorer.

When questioned about Rooney's mind set and work ethic, Moyes retorted:

"I can tell you categorically that Wayne has been training phenomenally for the past two days."

This will leave most followers of the club in a difficult position.

Do they forgive their want-away forward yet again and get behind the United talisman or remember the pain and stress that he caused fans over the past few months?

That's for each individual fan to decide for themselves.

Moyes also recounted how he had been "approached" by Sir Alex Ferguson for the United position.

"He invited me round to his house. I assumed he was going to say, 'I want one of your players.'

Instead he told me he was retiring. I asked when and he said, 'Next week, and you're the new United manager.'

I wasn't given an option."

Moyes now begins his journey as United boss with the hopes of 350 million fans on his shoulders. It's an incredible burden to bear, but something that I am sure the Scotsman will take in stride.

The one definite, however: Wayne Rooney will remain a Manchester United player.
