Daniel Levy is giving Gareth Bale the silent treatment over Real Madrid’s world-record bid to sign him.

The Spurs chairman is refusing “point-blank” to hold any further talks with Bale on the issue after ruling the Welshman will not be sold this summer regardless of whatever Real may offer.

While the football world was stunned by the lengths to which Real are going to get their man, Levy has already dismissed Madrid’s offer of £51million plus Angel Di Maria and Fabio Coentrao - totalling £95million.

This comes a week after Mirror Sport first revealed Spurs’ fears over

by Madrid’s incredible bid to make him their latest Galactico.

Levy - set to announce the record-breaking, £26million signing of Roberto Soldado from Valencia this week - is now giving Bale the cold shoulder.

Why! Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale is not getting his way. Time to throw the toys out? (

The Spurs chief is desperate to reach the Champions League and believes they have a much better chance with Bale in the side.

But while Tottenham were claiming dirty tricks by Real last week, Bale’s camp are angry that Levy is reneging on a promise made to their man last year.

They claim Levy told Bale when the winger signed his new deal last year that he would be allowed to leave if Madrid moved in for him this summer.

Bale is understood to have only signed on the strength of that “guarantee”. This is a repeat of the battle Levy had with Luka Modric over the Croatian’s bid to quit Spurs two years ago.

Just as he successfully did back then, Levy is adamant he will not sell Bale to Real, despite their willingness to shatter the world-record £80m they paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo.
