Gareth Bale's potential big-money move to Real Madrid set off a domino effect in England. According to several sources, a number of Premier League clubs are keen to sign Real players.

On Tuesday, the Mirror reported on Chelsea’' alleged interest in Khedira. According to the newspaper, the London club would be prepared to pay the German midfielder ¤6m per season, whilst Real Madrid would want ¤27m for the player.

Mourinho is scouting for a midfielder for his new project and Khedira would fit in perfectly. During his time as Real Madrid coach, the Portuguese showed that he is a great admirer of the German international, who was a first-choice player during all three of Mourinho's seasons in Spain.

The increased competition that Khedira faces at Real Madrid this season due to the arrival of Illarramendi and Casemiro could be the push the German needs to accept Chelsea’s offer. His priority is to play first-team football and earn a call-up for Germany at next summer's World Cup.

Luka Modric's name is also doing the rounds in England. The Times reported that Manchester United would be prepared to sign Modric if the club fails to bring in its priority transfer target, Cesc Fàbregas.

According to the broadsheet, David Moyes' side is preparing a ¤30m bid for the Croat. Modric arrived last summer and, despite not having a bad season, he failed to cement a place in Real's starting XI.
