Arsenal Transfer News: The Players Arsenal Can Afford to Offload This Week

Arsenal has let go 22 players this season, but there are several the club could still afford to offload this week.

Along with all those who left the club on a full-time basis, seven players have gone out on loan. The experience of these vary from youngsters yet to make it into the first team, to experienced veterans who can no longer help the club.

Despite being seemingly short of players in some key areas of the pitch due to injuries and transfers, Arsene Wenger could still afford to let a few players go before the transfer window closes.

These players are unlikely to play a part in Arsenal's plans this season, and they have similar levels of experience to those who have already left the club. The likes of Nicklas Bendtner are considered dead-weight, while youngsters like Thomas Eisfeld are not yet needed. 

Arsenal fans will be hoping that any more departures will be offset by some arrivals, though they won't miss these players should they go.

Ju-Young Park was a questionable signing before the end of the 2011/12 transfer window, and it's obvious that the South Korean striker was a panic buy for Arsenal.

Park has only made one appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners and, like Bendtner, he has no future in the Arsenal attack. He spent last season on loan at Celta Vigo, scoring four goals in 26 games.

Wenger has gotten rid of other dead-weight attackers like Marouane Chamakh and Andrey Arshavin, and a Park departure will surely come soon.

Remember the last time Bendtner wore an Arsenal shirt? Yeah, we don't either. 

Bendtner has spent the last two seasons on loan at Sunderland and then Juventus. It's become clear in that time that Bendtner has no future at the Emirates, and the sooner he leaves, the better for all involved.

The Mirror reports that the Danish striker may be headed to Crystal Palace—where Chamakh now plies his trade—while he's also been linked, via Goal.com, with a move to Hamburg.

Even without the injured Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, Wenger has five players to rotate in the three attacking positions before he gets to Bendtner.

There's also the fact that new signings are a possibility before the transfer window closes. 

Despite showing plenty of promise in his time on the pitch so far, Eisfeld is still not a major part of of Arsenal's plans.

The German youngster has seen some playing time with the senior side on preseason tours, as well as in cup games, but a stint on loan would help him greatly this season.

Eisfeld has Tomas Rosicky and Santi Cazorla in front of him in the attacking midfield position, not to mention any possible new signings.

Considered a prospect at right-back by Arsenal, Hector Bellerin is another youngster who could benefit from some time on loan.

Arsenal announced that the defender had signed a new long-term contract in July, thus showcasing the club's faith in the player. Like many others on this list though, Bellerin has too much competition in his position for this season.

A cup game or two may be a possibility for the Spaniard, but Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson will feature quite regularly.

Chuba Akpom showed Arsenal fans his talents in preseason. The English youngster set himself apart as one to watch for the future, but the Gunners have no need of him right now.

Arsenal has been in search of some quality talent in the forward position, and the club already has Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo contending for the lone striker position.

Akpom may continue his development at the club this season, but he's another player the club can afford to let go.

Serge Gnabry featured a lot in preseason for Arsenal, and that led to speculation that he would see more playing time this season.

Three games into the season and it looks like that may not be the case. Despite the lack of options for Arsenal early on, Gnabry has failed to feature for the club so far. While these games were all important ones, especially the Fenerbahce Champions League tie, it seems strange that Gnabry didn't come on to give players like Theo Walcott a rest. 

The German attacker is closer to the first-team than any of the other young players on this list, but is still not needed this season.
